The Other Side of Stress

“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called
sons of God.”
-Jesus (Mt.5:9)

I have been thinking about stress again lately. No, I am not stressed as I write this (not this time). Still, I have certainly experienced more than my share of it too. I have also often observed it in others. I wonder why that is. Why do we get so stressed out? I suppose there are a 1001 reasons why people get stressed out. I am not a psychologist and as such can offer no wisdom for combating it other than this little nugget from the Psalms: seek peace and pursue it.

Read that again: seek peace and pursue it. Can we do that? Dare we do that? Can there be anything more important in today’s crazy world than pursuing peace? Personally I would have to say that there is not. If/when you find it, guard it religiously! Guard it, friends, for it is precious! If we cannot find personal peace, I would doubt that we could find anything else worth having either.

Just my random musing. Peace, friends.
