Just Fred

I have no idea where this originated, but it's worthy of The Other Side of Will. Enjoy.

An Arizona Highway Patrol officer stops a Harley for traveling faster than the posted speed limit, so he asks the biker his name.

'Fred,' he replies.

'Fred what?' the officer asks.

'Just Fred,' the man responds.

The officer is in a good mood, thinks he might just give the biker a break, and write him out a warning instead of a ticket. The officer then presses him for the last name.

The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it.

The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it.

'Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name?'

The biker replies, 'It's a long story, so stay with me.' I was born Fred Johnson. I studied hard and got good grades.

When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Johnson, MD.

After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream!

Got all the way through School, got my degree, so then I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS.

Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS, with VD. Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS.

Then I was Fred Johnson, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Johnson with VD.

Then the VD took away my Johnson, so now I am Just Fred.'

The officer walked away in tears, laughing.

So I discovered a new blog today which gave me much enjoyment. It is called, "Fighting Off Frumpy." Have you ever wondered about raising boys? Read this outstanding blog post, and wonder no more! It is well-written and will bring a tear to your eye and a chuckle to the rest of you. Enjoy, and wonder no more about little boys.

I, for one, will be checking into "Fighting Off Frumpy" again. LOL. Peace.

Diet Drugs?

Source: Unknown (via Facebook)
I can see a dragon guarding the fridge as being very effective in achieving my dieting goals.

Sort of gives a new meaning to the term "Getting Fried." LOL
(Admit it, that's funny).

Hmm, maybe I will stick to my current weight loss plan; my doctor is more likely to approve.

Well there you have it. What diet drugs are you taking?

The Friendly Dictatorship?

I love living in Canada! We enjoy some majestic scenery, the air is relatively clean, the people are generally fairly friendly, and up and coming politicians can choose to make dictatorial baboons of themselves as they attempt to tell their would-be followers what to believe.

I speak of none other than the Liberal party of Canada’s new poster child, Justin Trudeau who recently announced that all future Liberal MP’s "MUST" be Pro-Choice on the abortion issue. Excuse me? What am I missing here?

When did we change our political system in this country to that of a dictatorship?

This is not a question of the pros or cons of abortion. This has nothing to do with whether you or I tend to follow the pro-choice camp or the pro-life camp. This has nothing to do with religion or ethics. This is simply one of the signs of a government that is bent and determined to tell her people what they can and cannot believe. If you have aspirations to become a Liberal politician in this country, then you have to believe as Pierre’s little boy does. At the risk of digressing too far, it is interesting to note that it was Justin’s daddy that legalized abortion in this country in the first place when he was Prime Minister.

Does Justin (and by connection, the Liberal Party of Canada) think that the Canadian people are too stupid to realize what is really going on? Are we really that na├»ve? Are we OK with government telling us what we can and cannot believe? What’s next; completely take away our right to vote?

(with hand held up) Excuse me, Mr. Prime Minister, is it OK if I go pee now?

I am not suggesting that other political parties don’t also have their own flaws, and I certainly could pick on some of their blunders as well, but I am appalled when someone in government has the audacity to tell me what I can and cannot believe, and if I do not think exactly as he does, then I cannot play in his sandbox. It seems to me that someone has a little growing up to do!

No government is perfect. If history has taught us anything it is that power corrupts, regardless what political machine a nation embraces as its own. Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, and whatever other “isms” there may be; they all have their good points and bad points, and they all have had corrupt leaders.

The old adage says that, “If you don’t vote you cannot complain.” I disagree with that sentiment. Governments are going to do whatever they want, regardless of who does or doesn’t vote for them. Until there is some real change, and not just voting for another party who ties their shoes a little differently than the other guys, voting will continue to mean nothing.

Maybe it’s time for another revolution. Maybe its time for the people to rise up and take back our country, before the political sandbox looks like the pseudo-democracy of other third-world countries. Maybe it’s time that pro-choice and pro-life stood together, arm in arm, and reminded Justin and other future politicians what governing the people does and does not include. Maybe the people have already spoken and begun to rise up based upon the typically low turn out at the polls on election days, and it is the politicians who are too stupid to realize that these too are votes; "None of the Above" votes. Maybe if fewer and fewer people turned out to vote, then someone in politics will one day sit up and notice and begin to do something about it. Maybe Canadians will wise-up and Justin won't even win his own seat. Maybe no one even cares.

That’s the way I see it anyways. Peace.
