I Am My Own Grandpa

I saw the above on Facebook one day, and I simply had to share it. I have no idea where it originated, or I certainly would have given proper credit where credit is due. However, it's left me with the strange desire to sing the tune from the Beverly Hillbillies. LOL.

Well, why not? Here it is:

Condoms Aren't Just For Smoking Anymore

One evening after dinner, two elderly friends, Bertha and Ethel, were outside their nursing home having a smoke when it started to rain. One of the ladies pulled out a condom, cut off the end, put it over her cigarette, and continued smoking.

Seeing this strange sight, Bertha asked, “What’s that?”

Her friend Ethel replies, “It’s a condom. This way my cigarette doesn’t get wet.”

Still bewildered, Bertha probes further, “Where did you get it?”

“Oh, you can get them at any drug store,” answered Ethel.

The next day Bertha wanders into the local drug store and announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms.

The pharmacist looks at her strangely, wondering to himself what a sweet elderly lady could possibly want with condoms, and politely asks her, “What brand do you prefer?”

Bertha replied, “It doesn’t really matter, so long as it fits a Camel.”

When the Skies Come Alive

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1)

It is no secret that I love looking at the sky. The colours and cloud formations often are simply breathtaking. Many an evening my better half and I simply sit on the back deck and are awed by what we see above us.

Someone once said, "A picture is worth a 1000 words." Having said that, I will let the following pictures tell the rest of the story. Enjoy.

All the preceding pictures were taken from a cell phone on the deck behind our home in southern Alberta during May and June of 2013. They were not manipulated in any way.

Just A Little Horsing Around ...

No doubt we've all heard of the term, "common sense." Some of us have even heard of a similar-sounding term called "horse sense." My question, however, concerns the difference between the two.

What is the difference between common sense and horse sense? Does anyone know?

You'll be happy to know that I chased this down for you. Apparently, the difference between common sense and horse sense is simply that horse sense is common sense that has been "stable-ized." Yuk, Yuk.

So now you know; glad to have been able to help.
