Memories and Life Lessons

I can't believe it's been five years already! The year I turned fifty, my dear wife held a biker-themed birthday party for me and invited several family members and friends. What an amazing time! The BBQ food was plentiful, we probably all had a few too many libations, but we all enjoyed each other's company and had a lot of fun. At the end of the day, isn't that what birthday parties are all about?

That year I also had the pleasure of joining three other friends on a trip to Biker Mecca; Sturgis. All I can say is, Wow! One week, 3500 km on the saddle of a motorcycle, and memories to last a lifetime! You can read my journaled memories of that trip here.

I guess what I really want to say is, it is easy for all of us to be so busy making a living, that we forget to make a life. Sometimes you just have to say, enough is enough, and no matter what the cost, do something just for you. The bills will always be there, but the opportunity to go and do something wild and fun, that you always wanted to do, may not always be possible. Working in a healthcare environment like I do, this reality is more noticeable now than I ever imagined before, as I see several people in the prime of life, suddenly incapacitated.

What interests you? Discover it. Pursue it. Again, Don't ever get so busy making a living, that you forget to make a life. Peace.
